( Ages 6 and up) 4:30 to 6 pm.
Discover the secret world of owls! Learn what makes these raptors excellent predators of the night with a presentation followed by a hike on the trail to hopefully hear or spot one of Huntley's resident owls. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program.
Birding for Beginners - Woodpeckers
(Ages 12 and up), 8-11 am.
As they drum and drill on trees woodpeckers are seeking shelter, food or a mate. Come learn about woodpecker biology and behavior, how to attract them to your yard and see if you can spot some of the seven species that can be found in the park at our feeders and on the trail.
(Ages 12 and up), 12 to 1:30 pm
Join park naturalist and artist Margaret Wohler for a hike and learn sketching techniques to enhance your observation skills.
(Ages 7 and up) 5 - 7 pm.
A naturalist takes you on a relaxing stroll through the park at dusk to tour the woods and wetlands to watch and listen for beavers, owls and other nocturnal residents. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program.
