The Huntley villa must have hosted many afternoon teas, but probably not one like this where the guests are asked to make their own fresh butter while we share stories about families who lived here. Teddy bears and favorite dolls or trucks are welcome to partake of the simple fare of bread and butter, fruit, homemade pot cheese, and a selection traditional and herbal teas. Includes tour of Huntley House and grounds.

A naturalist takes you on a relaxing stroll through the park at dusk to tour the woods and wetlands to watch and listen for beavers, owls and other nocturnal residents. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program.
(Ages 2 to 3 yrs 6 mos) 10:00 - 11 am.
Children and their parent learn about plants, animals, and their habitat through songs, crafts, and activities. Topics vary each class.
* Twilight Hilltop Tour
(Adults) 7:30 - 8:30 pm.
Historic Huntley sits high upon a hill overlooking Hybla Valley and Huntley Meadows Park. It's a dramatic setting made all the more stunning by the setting sun. Join us after hours for a special tour and see the house in a different light. Light refreshments served afterward. Dress appropriately for the weather.

Turtlehead, jewelweed, seed box, cardinal flowers; come see our beautiful fall wetland flowers. Discover how they live and how to draw them. Supplies included.

Churn your own delicious butter and taste fresh cheese you can make at home. Discover how Huntley, once summer home for the wealthy, became a dairy farm. House tour included.

Make simple toys to take home and play games like those enjoyed by the children who once lived at Historic Huntley. Special children's house tour and scavenger hunt included.
(Adults) 7:00 - 8:30 pm.
Join a park naturalist on a walk through the park using your senses. What can you hear if not distracted by sight? Can you smell a wetland? What can you see if you take time to look? Slow down and experience a nature walk from a different perspective, one of touch, smell, taste and hear.
(4 - Adult) 12:00 - 2:00 pm.
Grab a net and join us for a special day with a park scientist to see, touch, and study wetland creatures up close and personal. Use magnifying lenses to study their unique characteristics. What critters live in the wetland? What can these little animals tell us about their home? This rare opportunity to dip-net in the wetland is possible through the guidance of our park naturalists.
Evening Walk

Join naturalist P.J. Dunn to hike the trails after dark as you look and listen for owls, beavers and other night animals.

Huntley's forests are home to certain plants whose ancestors have been with us since dinosaur times! Learn about the ferns, moss and their allies on a 1.5 mile hike (flat terrain) while keeping a complimentary field sketch book provided by Running Brooke Fund

STEAM Nature Sleuths (6 classes)
(Ages 4 - 6 yrs) 10:00 - 11:55 am
We introduce early learners to STEAM education (Science, Engineering, Technology, Arts, Math) concepts through active, hands-on investigations and experiments in nature with the guide of a naturalist. Children learn how to use binoculars, magnifying glasses and field microscopes to deepen their observations and investigations. Come outside with us to have fun and learn about the wild world around us!
